Custom Machine Quilt A Dresden Plate Quilt With Natalia Bonner

$11.00

Join Natalia Bonner in the studio she machine quilts this gorgeous Dresden Plate quilt. Natalia will be walking you through her entire process from start to finish - marking, planning, and both hand-guided and ruler quilting.

Natalia has chosen classic feathers and cross-hatching patterns for this quilt as it's a classic favorite. The bold shapes and curves make for some really fun quilting designs. Natalia has marked the background using a water-soluble marker so you can see the quilting lines clearly.

For the corners, Natalia will be using free-motion quilting with a feather pattern that follows the marked curves. Free-motion quilting takes some practice but it's so satisfying once you get the hang of it.
For the inner plates, Natalia will be using the 4-N-1 machine quilting ruler and a ruler foot attachment. Natalia will quilt straight lines on the pointed blades to create a secondary diamond effect. The ruler helps keep the lines straight and even.

Once Natalia has quilted the entire Dresden Plate pattern, she'll remove the markings using a baking soda and water mixture. Once the machine quilting is complete the quilt is now ready to be bound for a beautiful finished look.

I hope following along with my process has inspired you to try quilting some bold curves and shapes in your own quilting projects.
